This Apple Stamp DIY Appreciation Card is just the craft for you and your little buddy to show appreciation to your teacher this year. Ever feel like you just want to do something a little extra special for your child’s teacher, but all the ideas have been done before? That’s how I felt one year, when my kids were both in preschool. They only attended preschool 2 days a week, so the rest of the time we played and crafted at home.
While searching around the house for a new kind of craft that would hold my preschool kids’ attention, I came across a fun post from Craftulate.com about stamping with vegetables. It inspired me to try something like this with my own two kiddos. I went to search in my fridge for some supplies, and the only viable option I found was a carrot. Through trial and error (and a lot of laughter), we stamped many weird shapes and creatures, and it was absolute fun! I noticed that one of the shapes vaguely looked like an apple, which gave me a brilliant idea of making a special card for our teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week. That’s how an idea for the carrot, umm, Apple Stamp DIY Teacher Appreciation Card was born.
The craft is really rather simple. I believe that you can make it with kids of any age. My daughter was 3, and my son was 5 when they made their cards. And while my son was able to stamp all by himself, my daughter needed some guidance. Our Apple Stamp DIY Teacher Appreciation Card was completed in an hour, including drawing pictures inside. It was fun, easy, and quick! Give it a try!

Supplies:
Directions:
1.Cut the cardstock twice the size of your card length wise, then fold it in half.
2. Take the knife and carve a little triangle on top and bottom of your carrot.
3. Dip your carrot into an ink pad, and then stamp your “apples” onto the card.
Note: you can use paint as well, but I prefer ink because how fast it dries and is virtually mess-less!
4. Using a sharpie draw a little stem (and a leaf, if you want)
5. Have your child sign the card or…like in our case, draw a picture!
You’ve got your own Apple Stamp DIY Teacher Appreciation Card!
Save the idea for later!!!
