Apple Stamp DIY Teacher Appreciation Card

This Apple Stamp DIY Appreciation Card is just the craft for you and your little buddy to show appreciation to your teacher this year. Ever feel like you just want to do something a little extra special for your child’s teacher, but all the ideas have been done before? That’s how I felt one year, when my kids were both in preschool. They only attended preschool 2 days a week, so the rest of the time we played and crafted at home.

Ewok Valentines (FREE Printable)

If you have a Star Wars fan on our hands, then these Ewok Valentines will surely make their day! Even more than that, they will love making them with you for their friends and sharing those funny sounds the goofy Ewoks make!

My son and I were trying to come up with a homemade Valentine last year that would use a Hubba Bubba bubble gum. As we were brainstorming and humming “Hubba bubba hubba bubba” to ourselves, it occurred to us that it was so similar to the sound that Ewoks made in the Return Of The Jedi! And so the idea for Ewok Valentines was born!

Truth in the Tinsel–Christ-focused Advent Countdown for Kids

Note: this post contains an affiliate link to the Truth in the Tinsel eBook.

For the past 5 years, our family has been enjoying a wonderful Christ-focused Advent countdown called Truth in the Tinsel. It is created by Amanda White who blogs at OhAmanda.com. I have been following Amanda and reading her blog for years. I admire her passion for bringing Christ into the lives of children in a meaningful and fun way. When my kids were old enough to understand and answer some basic questions and do fun crafts, we went out and purchased the eBook “Truth In The Tinsel”! I printed it out, and since that first year we still use that same print-out to this day. This Christ-focused advent countdown has been our go-to Christmas resource for many years!

Simple Fall Leaf Garland

Simple Fall Leaf Garland is a perfect craft for a rainy fall afternoon. It does require a simple prep—collecting the leaves and either pressing them or drying them. I usually just stick them between the pages of my very big cookbook. You do not need to dry your leaves for a very long time in order to use them to make this simple fall leaf garland. One or two days is the minimum. If you use freshly picked ones, the leaves will curl up by the end of the day, and your garland will be looking pretty sad. So make sure to go outside, enjoy some of that gentle fall sunshine and pick some gorgeous fall leaves for this project.

Fall Bucket List DIY

The whirlwind of summer fun has calmed down, and what we have now is the seemingly quiet stillness of fall. I’m all for cozying up on the couch with blankets and tea, but it is also very easy to get sad and depressed during the fall months. Just look out the window…more often than not, you see grey skies and wind and rain. In attempts to avoid seasonal fall blues, we set out to create a little Fall Bucket List.

Mother’s Day DIY Gift: Fingerprint Jar Vase

Mother’s Day is a wonderful time of year to celebrate all the mothers in your life. But what I love in particular is coming up with a fun Mother’s Day DIY gift that the kids can do by themselves for their Grandma (this works for moms, aunts, and other mother figures, too).

A few years back, we had made a beautiful vase for our Grammie, all decorated with kids’ fingerprints . We also made paper flowers, all of which had sweet sentiments written on them to put inside. The idea was for my Mom-in-Law to use the jar as a vase for her bouquets all year round. But instead, she has kept it as is and proudly displays it on her shelf to this day. Whatever a special mom in your life decides to use it for, I think our Mother’s Day DIY Gift, a Fingerprint Jar Vase, will be a very special gift indeed!

Teacher Appreciation Gift Tote

As you may know, Teacher Appreciation Week is upon us, and many parents are scrambling to come up with a thoughtful gift. Well, look no further because I’ve got an awesome idea for you—a Teacher Appreciation Gift Tote!

A few years ago, when my son was graduation pre-school, we wanted to do something grand and personal for his teachers. I looked through ideas on the internet and have come up with an idea of a gift basket. Instead of trying to come up with one perfect gift, we decided to put several small but cool things in one basket.

The only thing was that I did not quite like the idea of a basket. I really wanted to use something more useful in everyday life. Then, I saw an idea of a beach tote on Pinterest. It was stuffed with lots of goodies as a “basket” alternative, and I knew it was just what I had in mind also!

Every year I get excited to come up with fun and unique ways to say “thank you” to our educators. I would go as far as say that we should show love and appreciation for our teachers every day of the year.  But having an official designated week of appreciation is certainly a wonderful reason to shower our hard-working teachers with a little extra attention. It’s also a great excuse to get creative and make some fun crafts with the kids!
